Wrap-Up of Game #1

Eagles Team Parents

Wow!! What a start to the season!!
This was one of the best overall team performances we as coaches have been a part off
- Our offense is already playing like a well oiled machine!!!
    - Rushing for 5 TD’s in this game and even 1 TD from a pass (unbelievable!!!!!)
- Our defense also played fantastic in this game
   - Stopping our opponent's offense for little or no gain throughout the entire game
(Fantastic job to everybody)

Game Result:
Eagles:  37
Vikings: 0

Team Highlights:
We had  6 different players make scoring plays in this game (Unbelievable!!!!!)
- We are already more than half way to our goal of all 10 players scoring in a game (After the very 1st game - Outstanding!!!!)
   - We'll keep setting up opportunities for every player on the team to experience the thrill of scoring points for the team

What went well:

Running plays:
Our running plays were terrific in this 1st game.
- We had quick & clean exchanges between the CTR x QB x RB (with no dropped ball's - which is really an accomplishment for the 1st game of the season
- Our RB’s were quick to take the hand-off & turn up the field.
- Also, our RB's made great cuts to get by the defense, creating some exciting down field runs.
(Great job QB’s & RB’s)

Passing plays:
We only threw a couple of times in this 1st game, but we are already showing some real potential!
- The WR's ran the correct routes and found open positions on the field (giving the QB's targets to throw to)
- And the QB's made good decisions to make "safe passes" to the open WR's (one of which went for a score)
(Great job QB’s & WR’s)

Run & Pass Defense:
Our defense was solid in this 1st game.
- The kids were moving together as a unit, "boxing" in the ball carriers
- Also, they did a great job supporting each other in their field coverage areas
(Great job defense – both squads)

Team Work
Lastly, it was exciting to see how well the kids functioned as a team (even in this very 1st game)
- Working together and helping direct each other on the field
- And keeping together on the sidelines and cheering for their teammates on the field
(Great teamwork – both squads)

What we can work on:

Usually during a game, we notice items we can improve on, or a missed opportunity.
- But based on how well  we played  for this 1st game -  we didn't see anything needing improvement
(Fantastic job to everybody – the Eagles are 1-0!!!)

Follow-up Items:

Pictures
If you happen to get a picture of your little all star during the game, or a group shot that really shows our team's spirit, please send it to us.
- Our team's homepage allows us to load up a picture with every news entry, and 4 pictures that cycle through in a slide-show type format on the main page
- We got a great picture of the team from Sara Eziuka for this 1st game

End of Season Party
We also wanted to start getting everyone's opinion / schedule for the end of season party (most important part of the entire season!!!)
- As a 1st proposal we were thinking a party on the weekend after our last game
(Last game is on 6/7, so the following weekend would be the 13th or 14th)
Please let us know your preference w/ a
1) Party on either the 13th or 14th is OK
2) Prefer on the 13th but either is OK
3) Only the 13th is OK
4) Prefer on the 14th, but either is OK
5) Only the 14th is OK
6) Neither the 13th nor the 14th is OK

That should be it for now
- Let us know if you have any questions / concerns

Sincerely,
Greg Thomas
Ilija Prinzevski
