CHYAA Spring/Summer Season Update

Crieve Hall Baseball Players, Coaches, and Families,

As we’ve communicated to you all over the past couple of months, we intend to host a Spring / Summer 2020 baseball season. We’ve been monitoring the directives from both state and city governments and have been meeting regularly to try and understand how restrictions effect youth sports and when we might be able to play baseball. With Davidson County beginning Phase 1 of the Roadmap to Reopening, we believe that we can set a target date for a return to league play. We will continue to seek guidance from Metro Parks and monitor the Roadmap to make sure that we are moving forward, but, in the absence of any delays, we anticipate that games will start on 6/13.

At this time, we are seeking additional guidance on when we might be allowed to have official practices and if any special protocols will need to be followed. We will communicate with coaches as soon as we have more clarity on beginning practices.

Our tentative plan is to play a 10-game season beginning on 6/13. Typical schedules will include a Saturday and a weekday game for every team from 6/13 through 7/17. End of season tournaments will begin on Saturday 7/18 and we hope to wrap up before the last week of the month.

The health of our players and families is the top priority. We will follow guidelines on any procedures and protocols around youth sports as they are made available from state and / or city government.

Regardless, we realize that some players and parents may not feel comfortable returning to organized sports at this time. In those cases, please reply to this email by May 16 to the league directors. We will arrange for a refund of your fees (minus processing charges and uniform costs that have already been paid by the league).
